The claim was made in a viral video


The viral message is claiming that 1000 rupee notes will be back in the market at the beginning of 2023. Along with this, it is also being claimed that now the bank will withdraw 2000 rupee notes. Along with this, bank customers will be allowed to deposit notes up to Rs 50,000 only. In such a situation, the 2000 rupees note will be stopped in 10 days. In such a situation, do not keep more than 2000 rupees notes with you.


PIB revealed the truth of the viral message

Press Information Bureau has done a fact check to check the truth of this viral claim. In its fact check, PIB said that the claims made in the viral video are baseless. The government has not taken any such decision and the Rs 2000 note will remain valid even after January 2023. Along with this, the government is not going to launch a 1 thousand rupees note in the market.
